Domestic Industry
This project was a speculative proposal during my time at the Royal College of Art showing an alternative future for the ‘Northern Powerhouse’ in Sheffield. This project was about developing a mode of practice through making and learning from others. Ways that ‘the industrial’ and ‘the domestic’ overlap were explored in the creation and use of a series of domestic objects – a knife, a worktop and a set of cutlery. A strategy for re-industrialising the city fabric, mixing industrial and domestic spaces, evolved from these explorations. Shortlisted for Sustain RCA Show 2016 Displayed on RCA website here.
