Folley Cottage
A flint cottage in the ‘Dedham Vale’ Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Suffolk. The existing building is not listed but is an important ‘non-designated heritage asset’. The renovation project respects the existing building whilst making it much more comfortable, better connected to the garden and fantastic views across the Stour Valley.
This is a ’deep retrofit’ project, we are super-insulating this historic cottage, making it fit for the 21st Century, and adding an extension. Woodfibre internal insulation has been chosen to protect the knapped flint walls from moisture buildup and condensaton. The work includes the addition of a ground source heat pump.
