CV


Tom’s career in architecture has always been guided by a strong design-led sensibility, with a particular interest in the design of homes. Having worked at a number of esteemed architecture practices, Tom has developed his solo-portfolio since 2018, taking on his own practice full-time in 2020.

Tom was shortlisted for the RIBA Journal 'Rising Stars’ in 2021.

At Panter Hudspith Architects, Tom worked on the design part of the award winning Oxford Westgate Shopping Centre redevelopment. Tom also worked on the award winning Orchard Gardens housing development in South London, which was shortlisted for the RIBA Stirling Prize 2022.

At Carl Turner Architects Tom led the design and build of an office refurbishment project and then the technical design of an award winning large new house in Hove.

At Burgess Architects Tom was project architect for a timber framed eco-house in Horsham and series of residential projects in South London and heritage settings in Dulwich.

Alongside his work in architecture, Tom has taught architecture as a design tutor at the University for the Creative Arts and the University of Sheffield at post graduate level. Tom has been a guest critic at the Royal College of Art, Manchester School of Architecture, the Architectural Association and Central Saint Martins.

Education

Tom received a Dissertation Distinction at The Royal College of Art and was tutored by celebrated architect Jamie Fobert, and Oliver Bindloss and George DawesTom was also tutored by digital fabrication researcher and artist Guan Lee, film-maker Clara Kraft and Satoshi Isono of Universal Design Studio.

Tom received a First Class BA(Hons) Architecture from The University of Sheffield and completed his professional accreditation at the University of Westminster.
